Bill Morrish

Co-Founder/Director of Project Development, Invested Public Network, Inc.

Bill Morrish is an urban designer and architect focused on affordable housing, public infrastructure, and graduate urban education. He employs the idea of a city’s “second nature” to examine the interplay of socio-technical networks and eco-social relationships in urban and rural contexts. Morrish investigates how material conditions and social processes shape citizens' collective abilities to co-create their local urban environments. He promotes redefining citizenship through the 'invested public’™ concept, highlighting alternative infrastructures and affordable housing models over traditional government and market approaches. An emeritus professor at The New School University, with degrees from UC Berkeley and Harvard, he mentors students in urban design and public policy. He co-authored "Growing Urban Habitats: Seeking a New Housing Development Model."
